Something to think about.

For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? Matthew 16:26

The amassing of great things power, influence, prestige, accomplishments, and wealth were very much sought after in Jesus’s day as they are today. And the question He asked is just as relevant today as it was yesterday.  “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul?” But the opposite can be asked as well. If you’re living a life of extreme poverty what will that profit you? It really isn’t a question of extremes or position. When you stand before God your wealth or poverty will not matter. You won’t be judged on either, you will be judged on whether you choose to obey God or not. Wealth and poverty will pass away but your choice will be eternal.

About Ruben

I am the owner of a custom furniture shop in Orlando, Florida. I had a heart attack back in 2010. As a result of complications from the heart attack I almost died . The road to recovery took about eighteen months and even now I still have issues to deal with. As a result of almost dying many things have changed. Most notably my concept of time. By that I mean that I am acutely aware of my mortality, not morbidly but realistically. Before the heart attack I thought I would make it to 70's, 80'S or as my mother into 90's but now I realize everyday is a gift. I don't take it for granted. That is why I write I have something to say and I want to say it, before I can't say it anymore.
